At Retreat2Wellness we believe in community, connection, and personal wellbeing, and we believe that travel offers the opportunity to enhance all of these. Retreat2Wellness is a community of people who are eager to explore the world around them, interested in connecting with those we meet along the way, and open to the challenge of new experiences.
So who is the R2W community? We are women and men, solo travelers, couples, and groups of friends or relatives, ranging in age from 27 – 68. Many are traveling internationally for the first time, some are experienced travelers. 95% are repeat adventurers, so it is highly likely that you will develop relationships with fellow travelers and meet up with them again on a future trip, or at a R2W social event. What we have in common is an openness and appreciation for challenge, engagement and out of the ordinary experiences. We find those things together while standing beside ancient ruins, learning to rappel, tasting ceviche prepared from fish we’ve just caught, or realizing that we share some of the same favorite songs as our Berber mountain guide. The goal of each Retreat2Wellness adventure is to gather like-minded experience seekers, and to feed your desire for inspiration, knowledge, physical challenge, and connection through travel.
Each trip is designed to introduce you to our destination in a unique and personal way. This includes opportunities for one-of-a-kind experiences everywhere we go. In each destination, local experts are selected for their knowledge of the natural environment, culture, cuisine and history of the places we visit. Just as important is their personality, life philosophy, and ability to make our journey fun. Our local guides are part of the R2W community: we enjoy longterm relationships that could best be described as friendships, allowing us to enjoy not only their knowledge of our destination, but also their favorite local spots.
As we strengthen our appreciation for the area we are visiting, we also strengthen our physical wellbeing with activities like hiking, cycling, kayaking, Stand Up Paddle boarding, fly-fishing, rappelling and surfing. Most days include the option of classes in yoga, Pilates, and Barre Training. The food we eat is nutrient dense, locally sourced and organic whenever possible.
I hope you will join the R2W community on an adventure and step outside of your normal routine to cultivate more of what is meaningful and fulfilling to you. Together, we will experience the world through travel; we will connect with fellow travelers through cultural and natural discovery; we will connect with the communities we visit; and we will energize mind, body and spirit.
At Retreat2Wellness we celebrate personal growth, active adventure, a vibrant existence, and optimal wellbeing.
I have been involved in the wellness industry for over 15 years in a variety of capacities. I’m a Yoga Alliance, Balancepoint Barre, and AFAA certified instructor and have enjoyed teaching and training in Massachusetts, California and Europe. For me, travel has been a lifelong passion: when I’m not traveling, I’m either planning a trip, or thinking about traveling.
In 2011, I decided to combine my passions for health, wellbeing and travel to form Retreat2Wellness. Since then, I’ve been leading retreats to some of my favorite destinations on the planet while getting to know some amazing clients. Each trip is filled with learning, inspiration and challenge, as well as light-heartedness and fun. My personal belief is that each day should include at lease three deep belly laughs for it to feel like a success!
Outside of travel, my life is also filled with the joy of giving back to the community where I live. I bring this love of community service with me in my travels by seeking opportunities to serve the areas we visit.
My intent with retreat travel is to help you get to new places–both physically and emotionally. To put you in new surroundings where you may re-gain perspective about what’s important and meaningful to you. It’s amazing what different surroundings, new experiences and fresh air can do for our outlook, confidence and productivity.
I travel extensively in North America, South America, Central America, the Caribbean, and Europe to find inspiring destinations for our retreats. All of the destinations are places of natural beauty, cultural interest and eco-sensitivity.
The mission of Retreat2Wellness is to experience a deeper understanding of the world through travel; to connect with fellow travelers through cultural and natural discovery; to connect with the communities we visit through local engagement; and to nourish mind, body and spirit through enjoyable movement, self-reflection and natural foods.
I hope you will join me soon on an active journey.
